What is a Fraternity?

A fraternity represents a group of men sharing interests and common values.

While attending college, students have the opportunity to find other students with shared values and build communities and organizations. A fraternity can help students forge bonds with each other that will last throughout their college years and into their professional life as well. Connections through the fraternity also help students gain professional experience and vital networking skills.

What does Xi Kappa have to offer?

At Xi Kappa, we strive to build a community for our brothers that inspires trust and growth as Men of The Excellence. We operate on the principles of Leadership Development, Academic Scholarship, Cultural Awareness, Philanthropic Service, and Unwavering Brotherhood. We also provide opportunities to allow students to become leaders and connect with our Asian American communities and professional alumni networks.

Do I Have to Be Asian to join Xi Kappa?

No, we encourage everyone to be part of the brotherhood!

​Xi Kappa is an Asian-Interest fraternity by title, but we take pride in the diverse backgrounds of all of our brothers, and are continuing to look for others who want to contribute to our distinct culture.

We are also involved with the school’s community, so if you see us on campus, feel free and come say hi!

How do I join Xi Kappa?

Interested members can meet the brothers of Xi Kappa at the beginning of every semester called Rush. We host a series of free social events where students get to meet and hang out with the brothers. Interested members can attend events, meet the members of our organization and others in the community, and experience Greek life.

These events usually include, karaoke nights, campfires, pool parties, sports days, etc.

All events are free, and rides to events are provided.

How do I join Xi Kappa if my school does not have a chapter?

You have the unique opportunity to create a new Xi Kappa brotherhood. With enough interested members at your school, your group can apply to become a Xi Kappa Colony and potentially start a new chapter for your school with the guidance of our alumni.

What are the expectations of a Brother?

As a brother, you have the expectation to show people what it means to be part of the “Men of The Excellence”. This means you act in a way that upholds our core values of Honor, Loyalty, Respect, and Integrity.

It is also expected that brothers contribute to the internal community of Xi Kappa by helping to maintain our strong bonds of brotherhood, and engage with the external community by participating in collaborative events and giving back to those in need.

How will I grow as a Brother of Xi Kappa?

As a brother, you will have access to our career network, which is made of alumni members who can provide mentorship or even internships. You will also have the opportunity to engage with a larger community and have a greater impact at your university.

How will Xi Kappa affect my academics?

We understand that being a member can be time consuming and can negatively affect their grades, and our organization has placed measures to help reduce those risks.

Our organization has consistently scored high GPA’s, and has been awarded by our university for it.

We help connect our new members with current members with similar majors or career paths, and we host regular study nights to keep everyone accountable.

Will I have time to work will being in a fraternity?

While being in a fraternity can be time consuming, especially for your first year, many active members find the capacity to be able to be a brother, have good academics, and have a job.

How can I stay involved with Xi Kappa as an alumni?

As an alumni, there are plenty of ways to stay connected with the current organization of Xi Kappa. Some of these ways include being active in our alumni career network, or providing guidance to the active members, or holding official titles in the National Board.
