About Xi Kappa
Xi Kappa Fraternity, Incorporated, founded in 1998, paves the way by offering leadership development, academic scholarship, social events, networking opportunities and an unwavering brotherhood.
The Alpha Chapter of Xi Kappa Fraternity, Incorporated is located at the University of Georgia and is the first Asian Interest Greek organization on campus. As a large part of the Asian-American community, Xi Kappa often works with organizations such as the Asian-American Students Association (AASA), Vietnamese Students Association (VSA), and the Indian Cultural Exchange (ICE) in social and philanthropic events. In addition, the chapter is a member of the UGA Multicultural Greek Council and works closely with other council organizations.
For over 25 years, we, the brothers of Xi Kappa, have been building our family with our values, and we celebrate all of the achievements and progress we have made along the way.
We take the utmost pride in our tightly knit brotherhood and the incredibly diverse and unique backgrounds of all of our members. As we continue on this path, we always strive to pave the way as the Men of Excellence.

Xi Kappa, the largest Asian Interest brotherhood in Georgia, is now offering expansion opportunities for future leaders.
We have recently opened opportunities for interested students at their universities to become future Xi Kappa trailblazers. This entails becoming the chartering class of a new Xi Kappa chapter at your school. This is a result of a recent increase of interest in Xi Kappa across the Southeastern states.

Our Pillars and Values
These are the values that define us as a brotherhood and allow us to connect with our communities, whether it is cultural or academic.
Leadership Development
Brothers in Xi Kappa are offered a unique opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience throughout their time in college. We offer 14 leadership positions and guidance to develop leadership skills.
Academic Scholarship
We place an especially high standard of academic excellence within our chapter, with our GPA consistently ranking among the highest within our council. We frequently support our brothers in their academic endeavors through coaching and our Alpha Chapter Scholarship fund.
Cultural Awareness
Our fraternity prides itself in having a long history of culture and heritage with many of our traditions still practiced today. While the fraternity was founded upon Asian culture, today, we’re proud to have one of the most diverse groups of individuals and cultures and we’re continually looking to add to it.
Philanthropic Service
As one of our key pillars, philanthropy holds a special place within our fraternity with our main point of emphasis focused on Mental Health Awareness. Each semester, we host multiple seminars and fundraisers to provide support to the following causes: Mental Health, Boys & Girls Club.
Unwavering Brotherhood
Brotherhood is at the core of our fraternity with a strong belief in a tight-knit community. We deepen these connections through our numerous brotherhood events, socials, mixers, and our camping and cabin trips throughout the year.

The History of Xi Kappa
In The Beginning,
The “Xi Kappa” tradition was created out of a desire for a difference within the Southern philosophy of “Dixie.” It began as a dream envisioned by Xi Kappa Founder, Jason Dunn, to pave a way to overcome the segregation within the Asian population as well as the American culture. As this journey began, he joined forces with 8 other Asian students at the University of Georgia in 1997, to start a Greek-based organization to break the mold for the average Asian student in the Southeast.
Together, the “Xi Kappa Asian-Interest Fraternity ”was formed on February 28th, 1998. These nine men set out to create this Asian-interest fraternity with an objective to promote the very Asian heritage that brought them together. Despite the differences in personalities and backgrounds, they bonded together to work for that common objective. These nine men challenged themselves to come together and form a brotherhood for students with the same Asian heritage and interest to bond and share their common cultural backgrounds.
These nine men are the Founders of Xi Kappa:
- Jason Dunn
- Chris DeGuzman
- Trung Pham
- Ben Wong
- Phong Nguyen
- Eliot Kim
- Sam Kim
- Brian Le
- Howard Hsu
